en.Wedoany.com Reported - CocktailIO's new CEO Jo Jae-woo, in an interview with ZDNet Korea at Namoo Technology's headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul on the 15th, outlined his business vision for a cloud-native platform in the AI era. He stated that while future artificial intelligence services will tend toward standardization, the importance of platforms that enable enterprises to operate stably and utilize these services efficiently within their environments will become even more pronounced. CocktailIO's goal is to grow into a core platform company supporting the AI-native era.

Jo Jae-woo, formerly a Vice President at Namoo Technology, assumed the role of CocktailIO's new CEO in April this year. With over 15 years of experience leading cloud business and sales organizations at Namoo Technology, he spearheaded major project orders and business expansion, driving growth in the cloud-native and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) markets. His objective is to integrate customer and market-oriented management into the development-focused CocktailIO and expand synergies with parent company Namoo Technology, thereby accelerating its expansion beyond the public sector into the private and financial markets.

Jo Jae-woo analyzed that despite the explosive growth of the AI industry recently, market attention has been overly concentrated on model competition. Enterprises face difficulties in adopting generative AI, including issues of cost and operational efficiency. As the battle for Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) intensifies, infrastructure costs have risen sharply, yet actual utilization rates often fall short of expectations. He envisions that while numerous keywords like Agentic AI, Physical AI, and Sovereign AI emerge, what truly matters in the enterprise field is how to operate and utilize AI. The competitiveness of platforms that connect enterprise internal data with applications, efficiently manage GPU resources, and control costs will become increasingly important. He added that just as server virtualization transformed data center operations in the past, the operational efficiency of GPU resources will become a new competitive edge, and an entity akin to VMware's role could emerge in the AI era.

In line with this trend, CocktailIO plans to strengthen AI infrastructure operations and GPU resource optimization functions, centered on its Kubernetes-based PaaS platform, "Cocktail Cloud." This platform has been under development since the early days of Korea's cloud-native market in 2017. Alongside Namoo Technology, CocktailIO has primarily accumulated implementation experience in the public and financial sectors, and is recently expanding its business scope into AI infrastructure operations. Jo Jae-woo noted that a decade ago, they had to explain what containers and Kubernetes were to clients, but now, with the proliferation of AI, cloud-native is considered essential infrastructure, presenting even greater business opportunities.

The company aims to cultivate its recently launched GPU resource optimization solution, "Cocktail Optimizer," as a next-generation growth driver. This is based on the assessment that as AI infrastructure investment expands, market opportunities for supporting efficient GPU operations are also increasing. Unlike current Korean AI startups that offer platform services from a data and model perspective, CocktailIO plans to enhance GPU operational efficiency from an infrastructure and Kubernetes standpoint. Jo Jae-woo stated that they are currently lightweighting the existing Cocktail Cloud and enhancing product performance by strengthening AI operational functions. They will continue to expand Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps) and AI capabilities to boost competitiveness as an AI-native platform. He also pointed out that half of the company's total employees are R&D professionals, and although there are many notable competitors in the domestic market, they are fully confident in their cloud-native technical capabilities and R&D strength.

Jo Jae-woo has identified expanding private sector business and synergies with parent company Namoo Technology as the most critical management tasks for this year following his appointment. The vision is to combine Namoo Technology's Cloud Management Platform (CMP) with CocktailIO's PaaS and GPU operation technologies to build an AI cloud full-stack system. He explained that connecting Namoo Technology's AI capabilities with CocktailIO's platform would provide customers with a more comprehensive AI infrastructure system. The plan is to move beyond mere solution provision and expand synergies through a full-stack form that supports the entire AI infrastructure operation process. Furthermore, leveraging his experience in overseeing private sector sales, he will adjust CocktailIO's market strategy, maintaining the existing public sector business structure while significantly intensifying efforts to capture the private enterprise market.

Jo Jae-woo stated that to establish a firm foothold in the AI market, competitiveness must be proven not only in the public sector but also in the private sector. Currently, the proportion of public sector business is high, but the goal is to create a balanced structure between public and enterprise sales. He specifically designated the financial sector as a core growth market, based on the assessment that while the financial field is expanding AI applications, demand for private cloud and cloud-native transformation is simultaneously increasing. He concluded by outlining a blueprint to solidify CocktailIO's position in the AI-native platform market over the next three years, aiming for CocktailIO to be the first company that comes to mind in the AI-native platform space and the enterprise customers seek out to solve practical problems. He emphasized that the company will continue to grow based on its unwavering technical prowess and platform competitiveness, even in the AI era.
