en.Wedoany.com Reported - ZOE Plus Energy Solutions Hungary has partnered with a Saudi private commercial group to build the country's first world-class battery energy storage system manufacturing plant. The project combines ZOE's advanced energy storage technology (ESS), Energy Pro's European engineering and manufacturing expertise, and local production capabilities, aiming to support Saudi Vision 2030 and promote clean energy development in the Middle East and beyond.

The plant will be built in two phases, with an initial capacity of 6 GWh and scheduled to commence production in the first quarter of 2027. The second phase will expand capacity to 18 GWh, aiming to fill a major gap in large-scale energy storage localization and end Saudi Arabia's reliance on imports. Once operational, the facility will help Saudi Arabia achieve its targets of 130 GW of renewable energy, 48 GWh of energy storage, and 50% clean power generation, accelerating its transformation from a traditional energy giant to a global clean energy equipment hub.

Spanning 150 acres, the plant will meet the highest European manufacturing standards and obtain "Made in Saudi Arabia" certification, fully compliant with local grid specifications. Its service coverage extends across the Gulf region, the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Africa. To cultivate local talent, a green energy academy will be established on-site, ensuring deep localization of core expertise.

Following its manufacturing base in Hungary, this project is ZOE's second overseas production facility and an integral part of its global strategy, combining ZOE technology, local manufacturing, and global services. Designed for extreme desert climates, the facility provides tailored energy storage solutions and sets a benchmark for similar regions worldwide.

Huang Jun, Chairman of ZOE Energy Group, stated that the Middle East is a key engine for global energy transition, and this manufacturing base represents a decisive step in ZOE's global strategy. ZOE will continue to provide cutting-edge technology, quality assurance, and full-chain services for the region's green transformation, jointly building a new energy storage ecosystem. This collaboration aims to support Saudi Arabia in advancing energy storage self-sufficiency, injecting new momentum into regional green growth and a global low-carbon future.
