en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (Ministerio de Vivienda y Agenda Urbana) has officially established the plenary session of the Architecture Quality Council (Consejo sobre la Calidad de la Arquitectura). This council aims to promote architectural quality as a public policy serving the public interest, regularly convening all levels of public administrations and key industry institutions and participants to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and develop proposals that contribute to improving the quality of the built environment. Its functions encompass promoting innovation, sustainability, and research, among other areas.

The specific functions of the Architecture Quality Council include: promoting the protection, enhancement, and dissemination of architectural quality; submitting proposals and recommendations on matters related to the Architecture Quality Law (Ley de Calidad de la Arquitectura); providing advisory services to all levels of public administrations; promoting architectural quality in public procurement processes; fostering innovation, sustainability, and research applied to the built environment; and raising societal awareness of the value of architecture. This council serves as the participatory, advisory, and consultative body stipulated by the Architecture Quality Law. During its inaugural meeting held last week at "La Casa de la Arquitectura," representatives from the central state administration, autonomous communities, and local governments, as well as professional associations, universities, research institutions, business organizations, and civil society entities related to architecture and the built environment, participated in discussions. Since the approval of the Architecture Quality Law, the ministry has progressively implemented the tools provided by the law: first creating "La Casa de la Arquitectura," then establishing the council, and next launching the National Architecture Strategy (Estrategia Nacional de Arquitectura), which will set a roadmap to integrate architectural quality into all public policies.
