en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian exploration company Super Copper Corp. announced on June 30, 2026, the official launch of the first phase of its diamond drilling program at the Cordillera Cobre copper project in the Atacama Region, Chile. The target area, El Alto, is located approximately 70 kilometers east of the city of Copiapó. The drilling campaign aims to verify a chargeability anomaly zone exceeding 800 meters in length, previously delineated through induced polarization (IP) surveys.

Super Copper Corp. is a Canadian junior mining company focused on copper exploration. This drilling program is part of the company's strategy to expand its exploration efforts. The first phase will deploy at least eight drill platforms, each planned to complete at least one drill hole, with a total expected footage of 5,000 meters. Preparatory work included the construction of access roads, drill platform preparation, and geological and geophysical surveys.

Super Copper CEO Zachary Dolesky stated that the preparatory work, including field operations, geophysical exploration, and geological modeling, was crucial for obtaining drilling permits. "Now it's time to execute the plan."

KOMATSU Super Copper's Cordillera Cobre Project Begins Drilling: What to Expect?

The Cordillera Cobre project is located in Chile's renowned copper belt, an area rich in copper resources. This drilling will target the chargeability anomaly zone associated with mineralization, as revealed by previous IP surveys. Results from the first phase of drilling are expected to be released over the coming weeks to months, which will help further assess the project's resource potential and economic value. The commencement of this drilling marks Super Copper's transition from the exploration preparation phase to substantive drilling verification at the Cordillera Cobre project.
