en.Wedoany.com Reported - Norwegian state-owned energy giant Equinor has extended its contract with Norwegian operator DOF Group for the anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Skandi Vega, which will continue operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) for an additional two years, securing vessel employment through the third quarter of 2029. DOF Group is a Norwegian operator with an advanced fleet serving the energy and marine industries.

DOF Group CEO Mons S. Aase expressed satisfaction with the two-year extension for Skandi Vega, stating that the contract further strengthens the company's already robust order backlog for the coming years. He added that the vessel has served Equinor since its construction in 2010, and the company will continue to create value by delivering first-class services.
The 2010-built AHTS Skandi Vega is specifically designed for deepwater anchor handling in harsh environmental conditions, with its initial collaboration with Equinor beginning 16 years ago. The vessel measures 109 meters in length and is equipped with a working moonpool, a 1,070-square-meter work deck area, anchor recovery racks, a main winch capacity of 500 tons, a secondary winch of 170 tons, and a bollard pull of 350 tons.
Shortly before the contract extension with Equinor, DOF secured a contract with TotalEnergies involving subsea construction, mooring, disconnection of an existing floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit, and connection for the replacement FSO.
