en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 3, Spanish renewable energy company Qualitas Energy recently secured approximately €172 million in non-recourse financing for a 156 MWp solar project portfolio in Italy. The solar project financing was jointly arranged by three financial institutions—CaixaBank, La Banque Postale, and DekaBank—and the funds will be used to support Qualitas Energy's construction of 15 ground-mounted solar projects in Italy.
This solar financing includes a term loan, ancillary credit facilities, and interest rate swap arrangements. Future revenue from the project portfolio will come from various long-term mechanisms, including Italy's FER X renewable energy incentive scheme, the FER X NZIA framework related to the EU Net-Zero Industry Act, power purchase agreements, and other support arrangements. The completion of the solar financing will provide a funding foundation for project construction and subsequent commercial operations.
Qualitas Energy currently holds approximately 65 MWp of construction-ready assets in Italy through Qualitas Energy Fund V and is advancing a development pipeline of over 1 GW, most of which are wind power projects expected to receive permits between 2027 and 2028. Following the completion of this 156 MWp solar financing, Qualitas Energy will continue to expand its renewable energy project portfolio in Italy, with subsequent progress depending on construction, grid connection, and electricity sales arrangements.
