U.S. FAA Advances $1.776 Billion in Airport Infrastructure Grants

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced on July 3 the advancement of a total of $1.776 billion in airport infrastructure grants, allocated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through relevant airport funding programs to support airport projects across 46 states. The funds will cover runway and taxiway repairs, terminal improvements, safety facility upgrades, and other airport infrastructure projects.

In this round of airport infrastructure grants, Denver International Airport received $88.8 million for pavement work; Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field received $74 million for runway repairs, apron expansion, and lighting upgrades; Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport received $62.4 million for runway and lighting repairs. William P. Hobby Airport in Houston received $62.2 million for runway construction, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York received $47.6 million for taxiway construction and fire rescue building reconstruction, and Orlando International Airport received $36 million for terminal and taxiway repairs.

This airport infrastructure grant was announced by U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, combining funds from the Airport Improvement Program and the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program established under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The relevant airport projects will subsequently enter the stages of fund execution, project bidding, and construction implementation.
