en.Wedoany.com Reported - The largest span bridge on China's newly built Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway (the new Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway)—the Liuhe Grand Bridge's low-tower cable-stayed bridge crossing the Chu River—was completed on June 30. This bridge, the most challenging control project along the entire line, has all its main structures finished, laying the foundation for the line's full completion and operation.

The Liuhe Grand Bridge's low-tower cable-stayed bridge crossing the Chu River is located in Liuhe District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Its main girder has a total length of 521.7 meters, with a main span of 220 meters. According to Hou Renjiang, Deputy Manager of the Second Branch of the 5th Bid Section of the Ninghuai Intercity Railway under China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the main girder was constructed in segments using the hanging basket cantilever method. Each segment of the girder is extremely heavy, and the high-altitude working space is narrow, meaning any slight deviation in construction could affect the bridge's alignment. The project management team used BIM technology to simulate the entire construction process and equipped the site with an automated numerical control monitoring system, which collected and adjusted the main girder alignment and cable tension values in real time 24 hours a day, keeping the construction alignment deviation of the main girder within millimeters.

The Ninghuai Intercity Railway is a backbone line of the intercity railway network in the urban agglomeration along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province and an important part of the Yangtze River Delta intercity rail transit network. Once the project is completed and operational, Nanjing and Huai'an will be directly connected within one hour, further improving the intercity rail transit network layout in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, and significantly promoting the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
