en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, Makor Resources, a company focused on copper mine exploration and development, has confirmed that its CEO, Brooke Bibeault, will speak at African Mining Week (AMW) 2026, where she will elaborate on the company's copper strategy in Zambia. African Mining Week is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 16, 2026, in Cape Town, South Africa.

Makor Resources is an Australia-based company specializing in copper exploration and development in Zambia. Its asset portfolio includes the Muli copper project in Zambia's Central Province and the Kangili copper project in the Mkushi region. The Muli copper project is located in a corridor rich in intrusive rocks and structures, approximately 30 kilometers from the Kitumba copper project developed by Sinomine Resource Group.

At African Mining Week 2026, Bibeault will participate in a panel discussion themed "Accelerating the Formalization of Artisanal Miners". Her speech will focus on how Makor Resources contributes to Zambia's national economic development and the global energy transition by expanding copper supply. In Zambia, the company supports the formalization of artisanal and small-scale miners through the "MineHive" initiative, which provides funding and technical support to help them integrate into the formal copper supply chain.

Regarding exploration plans, Makor Resources announced earlier in 2026 that it intends to invest up to $3 million by the end of the year to enhance geological understanding of its asset portfolio. The plan includes integrated geophysical surveys, remote sensing technology, and systematic sampling activities to support target definition and resource delineation. These activities are part of a medium-term investment framework, with total investment expected to range between $20 million and $30 million.

The Zambian government aims to increase copper production from 890,346 tons in 2025 to 3 million tons by 2031. Makor Resources' exploration and development plans are highly aligned with this national strategic goal of Zambia.
