en.Wedoany.com Reported - Qazaq Kaolin has launched a kaolin processing plant in the Akmola Region of Kazakhstan, producing its first batch of industrial products on the day of commissioning.

The plant utilizes a high-tech production line from German equipment company AKW, reportedly achieving significantly lower water and electricity consumption with near-zero waste. The raw materials are sourced from the Alekseevskoye deposit in the Zerendinsky District.

According to design capacity, the plant can produce over 90,000 tons of refined kaolin annually, along with an equivalent volume of pure classified quartz sand. Data from the Qazaq Kaolin website indicates that private investment in the project exceeds 12 billion tenge. Products will supply the domestic market in Kazakhstan, with plans to export to Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other distant countries.

The plant is expected to create approximately 90 jobs, with 80% to 90% of employees planned to be local residents, and the average monthly salary for workers projected at 650,000 tenge. Qazaq Kaolin also plans to develop high-value-added products in the future, specifically involving materials used in the production of tiles and ceramic granite.

According to reports, the Alekseevskoye deposit previously housed a processing plant with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of refined kaolin, which was commissioned in 1979 but ceased operations in the 1990s. After a gap of about 30 years, this project has been revived through the efforts of local government and investors. Data from the Akmola Region administration shows that 120,000 tons of raw materials have been extracted since the project's launch. The processing plant is expected to develop into a cluster for the production of glass, ceramic products, and building materials.
