en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kenorland Minerals has completed the initial diamond drilling program at the Western Wabigoon Project in northwestern Ontario, Canada, operated under an option agreement with a subsidiary of Centerra Gold.

The summer 2026 drilling campaign completed nine holes totaling 4,098 meters, targeting the W2 area. This area had previously shown gold mineralization through trenching and shallow drilling.
Drilling focused on a 3-kilometer-long gold-in-till and heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) anomaly trend along the Sorry Mac trend. All assay results are expected to be released in the third quarter of 2026.
Kenorland reported that drilling confirmed the presence of north-northeast and northeast trending shear zones, which are interpreted to intersect within the W2 target area. Various alteration types and sulfide mineralization were recorded along the tested length, which remains open to the north and southwest.
Visible gold was encountered in drill hole 26DFDD005 in the southwestern area, indicating further expansion potential of the mineralized system. Drilling encountered multiple lithologies, including interbedded mafic volcanic flows with intrusive rocks, while the northern area featured felsic volcanic rocks and abundant sericitized granodiorite intrusions.
Mineralization types exposed include sulfide-bearing quartz veins with visible gold, shear zone-hosted arsenopyrite-pyrite assemblages, and massive sulfide zones. A total of 157 HMC samples were also collected during the same exploration campaign, and geological mapping confirmed previously exposed mineralization in the area.
Geochemical surveys conducted by Kenorland between 2024 and 2025 identified W2 as a primary target within a 19-kilometer-long gold-in-till and HMC anomaly trend along the Manitou-Dinorwic Deformation Zone. The area is geologically characterized by northeast and north-northeast structural trends developed in volcanic rocks near the Bretz Lake felsic pluton. Surface sampling by the company yielded gold grades up to 7.75 g/t.
Follow-up work on the Western Wabigoon Project will be determined by Kenorland and Centerra Gold after jointly reviewing the assay data. In March of this year, Kenorland signed a purchase agreement to acquire full ownership of additional mining rights in northern Ontario.
