en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, 2026, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai completed an upgrade of the air conditioning systems on 62 metro trains. The project was carried out in coordination with the operator Keolis MHI.

The upgrade encompassed comprehensive maintenance of the trains' ventilation and air conditioning systems, with a focus on enhancing cooling efficiency, reducing the frequency of technical failures, and extending the operational lifespan of the systems. The work was aimed at ensuring uninterrupted metro operations while providing passengers with a reliable travel temperature environment during Dubai's hottest months.
The project execution included detailed inspections of key air conditioning components, replacement of parts that had reached the end of their service life, and operational performance tests to verify cooling efficiency. The RTA stated that this initiative is part of its preventive maintenance strategy, which focuses on proactively addressing potential issues before they affect service. The authority noted that the work will enhance the overall reliability of the fleet and help reduce long-term maintenance costs.
During Dubai's peak summer season, a stable and functioning air conditioning system is crucial for the thousands of daily metro passengers. The RTA stated that all work was completed in accordance with international standards and was carried out outside of peak passenger hours to avoid disruptions to the metro schedule and passenger journeys. The authority said the project aligns with its overall goals of improving operational efficiency, extending the service life of metro assets, and continuously providing safe and reliable public transport services for residents and visitors.
