en.Wedoany.com Reported - Turkey has recently launched a new round of tenders under its Renewable Energy Resource Zone (YEKA) program, with a total installed capacity of 2.4 GW.

The tender is divided into 21 separate auction rounds. Of the total capacity, 1.5 GW is allocated to seven onshore wind projects, while the remaining 900 MW is awarded through 14 solar projects. Interested bidding companies must submit their applications by October 13, 2026.

To ensure fairness and competitiveness in the auction, Turkey's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has set upper and lower limits for electricity prices. The maximum bid price for both wind and solar projects is €0.055 per kWh. The minimum bid price for solar projects is €0.0325 per kWh, while for wind projects it is €0.035 per kWh. If bids hit the minimum price, the auction will shift to a contribution-based mechanism, where developers must pay a fee per megawatt of installed capacity to participate.

This round of tenders also introduces flexible commercial structures to improve project economics. Winning solar developers can sell electricity on the open market for up to 60 months before the long-term contract takes effect; for wind projects, the market sales period is 72 months. After the initial phase, each project will transition to a 20-year power purchase agreement, providing stable and predictable revenue based on the final bid price.

The projects are distributed across different regions of Turkey to promote balanced renewable energy development. Ankara receives the largest solar quota at 370 MW, while Balıkesir leads with 685 MW of wind power installed capacity.
