The initial term of the contract is three years, valued at AUD 355 million. The contract includes a one-year renewal option, with the scope of work covering all underground development and production mining operations.

This signing marks a significant milestone in the advancement of underground mining at the Mt Marion lithium mine, signaling the next phase of development for this major Australian lithium operation.
Macmahon Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Michael Finnegan stated that Macmahon is pleased to collaborate with Mineral Resources (MinRes) and Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium to advance the next phase of underground mining at Mt Marion. He noted that this is a high-quality, long-term partnership opportunity, and working with strong, aligned partners will help solidify Macmahon Underground's position as a global Tier 1 contractor in future-facing commodities. The company looks forward to working closely with the joint venture to fully unlock the project's development potential.
The Mt Marion lithium mine is jointly owned by Mineral Resources (MinRes) and Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium, each holding a 50% stake. The mine is located 70 kilometers south of Kalgoorlie.
