en.Wedoany.com Reported - Halliburton has signed contracts with the Basra Oil Company (BOC) to provide Integrated Field Management Services (IFMS) as well as Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) for the development of the Bin Umar and Sindbad oil and gas fields in southern Iraq.

Under the contracts, Halliburton will provide field development planning, production optimization, digital integration, and EPCM services for the two fields. The project aims to accelerate the field development process while supporting the strategic goals of the Iraqi government to strengthen domestic production capacity and expand the technical capabilities of the Basra Oil Company.

Halliburton will deploy its Landmark software suite to build a digital platform integrating subsurface assessment, well planning, production operations, and business planning. The company stated that the integrated digital workflows are designed to enhance operational transparency, streamline project execution, and support faster decision-making throughout the full cycle of field development.

Zaid Khadra, Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa at Halliburton, said: "We are honored that the Basra Oil Company has entrusted Halliburton to support the development of the Bin Umar and Sindbad fields. We will work with BOC as a technology and project management service provider, integrating workflows, digital solutions, and execution expertise to maximize asset value."

The development plan for the Bin Umar and Sindbad fields aims to increase crude oil production while expanding the capture and utilization of associated gas to meet domestic market demand in Iraq. According to BOC, the first five-year development phase is expected to boost production at the Bin Umar field to approximately 150,000 barrels per day, along with 300 million standard cubic feet of associated gas per day. The project is part of Iraq's broader strategy to enhance energy security and reduce dependence on imported natural gas.

The Basra Oil Company will retain ownership, operational control, and decision-making authority over the assets, while Halliburton is responsible for providing technical support and project management services. Halliburton also stated that it plans to collaborate with local resources throughout the project to support the talent development and localization initiatives of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
