en.Wedoany.com Reported - Milo's Tea Company has deployed a new 150,000-square-foot cold storage distribution center in Birmingham, Alabama, to expand its operational footprint and strengthen beverage distribution capabilities. The facility is located near Lakeshore Parkway, adjacent to its Bessemer production base.
This distribution center marks the fourth major facility investment by Milo's since 2020, with the company's total domestic manufacturing investment during this period approaching $400 million. The center currently employs approximately 50 staff and is designed to enhance safety and operational efficiency for employees, logistics partners, and retail customers.
The Birmingham distribution center adds cold storage and distribution capacity to support Milo's cold chain needs and sustain ongoing growth. The company stated that its series of investments has added over 500 employees cumulatively and improved operational capabilities across facilities. Chairman and CEO Tricia Wallwork said the company has no plans to slow down construction, noting that this distribution center not only increases space but, more critically, enhances safety and efficiency for employees and logistics partners, while deepening the commitment to on-time, intact deliveries for retail partners.
Milo's expansion of cold storage distribution capacity reflects the growing importance of cold chain infrastructure for temperature-sensitive product manufacturers. For transportation suppliers and fleets serving food and beverage customers, such new cold storage facilities are expected to create new opportunities in dedicated capacity, distribution routes, and cold chain services.
