AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope confirmed the deal during a joint press conference. Pope emphasized the strong partnership Boeing has successfully built with AerCap over the years, stating that they "highly value this partnership and look forward to supporting AerCap and its customers in opening and sustaining new long-haul routes, further connecting the world." AerCap, which leases aircraft to airlines globally, believes this latest order and its growing 787 portfolio will better meet customer demand. During this year's Farnborough Airshow, the Boeing 787 has secured multiple orders. Riyadh Air confirmed a purchase of 28 787s on the first day of the show (with 20 converted from the 787-9 to the 787-10), Philippine Airlines committed to purchasing 15 787-10s with options for five more, and Uganda Airlines also placed its first order for four 787s and four 737 MAXs.

According to a statement from AerCap, the aircraft are scheduled for delivery by 2033 and will be powered by GE Aerospace's GEnx-1B turbofan engines. AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly stated that the order "further solidifies our position as the world's largest owner of 787 aircraft." As demand for modern, fuel-efficient widebody aircraft continues to grow, this deal provides customers with access to one of the most versatile and popular models in the family.
