en.Wedoany.com Reported - A delegation from the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB) conducted a technical visit on July 30 to the Nuclear Technology Development Center (CDTN) in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais State) to learn about the institution's laboratory infrastructure and assess the potential for scientific cooperation in rare earths, radioactive minerals, and other strategic mineral sectors. The visit included institutional presentations, laboratory tours, a visit to the Graphene, Niobium, and Rare Earth Technology Center (GRANIOTER), and coordination meetings between the parties.

The SGB delegation was composed of representatives from the Office of the Presidency's Advisory Board and the SGB Directorate of Geology and Mineral Resources (DGM), and was received by researchers and managers from CDTN and the National Rare Earth Institute (INTR). During the meeting, both parties presented their main technical and scientific capabilities, followed by a tour of CDTN's facilities.

The teams analyzed opportunities for joint project development and the signing of a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT), planning research, development, and innovation actions in the field of critical and strategic minerals. Discussion topics covered rare earth elements (REE), uranium (U), thorium (Th), phosphates, and other mineral resources of strategic importance to Brazil. The initiative aims to expand scientific cooperation, strengthen national analytical and laboratory capabilities, and support technology development along the value chains of these minerals.
