Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 3, Ford Motor Company reported total U.S. sales of 198,313 vehicles in July 2025, marking a 5% year-over-year increase and outperforming the estimated industry average. However, the company’s electric vehicle (EV) sales remained nearly unchanged, totaling 8,229 units—down slightly from 8,242 units in July 2024, representing a 0.2% decline.
Among Ford’s EVs, the Mustang Mach-E delivered strong performance, with 5,308 units sold in July. The model achieved its best July to date and has moved ahead of its 2024 sales pace. The Mach-E was subject to a recall earlier in the year, which impacted nearly 200,000 vehicles in the U.S., but sales have since stabilized.
The F-150 Lightning pickup truck also posted stable results, with 2,831 units sold in July, a 0.3% year-over-year increase. In contrast, sales of the E-Transit electric van declined significantly, reaching only 90 units in July—an 89% drop from the same month in 2024.
Cumulatively, Ford’s EV sales for the first seven months of 2025 totaled 47,217 units, reflecting a 9.9% decrease compared to the same period last year.
During the company's second-quarter earnings call on Wednesday, Ford CEO Jim Farley announced plans to unveil a new electric vehicle and EV platform in the U.S. in the coming days. He described the initiative as: “a Model T moment” and added: “It’s a chance to bring in a new family of vehicles, with better efficiency, technology, space, and features.”
Farley emphasized that Ford will not compete directly in the mass-market EV segment with Japanese and South Korean manufacturers but will instead focus on its core strengths—trucks and SUVs. The company is working on a cost-efficient EV platform and plans to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in Michigan to support the launch of more affordable models.
The first EV to be built on the new platform is expected to be a mid-size pickup truck, scheduled for release in 2027. Further details on the new EV strategy will be revealed at an event in Kentucky on August 11.
In addition to its product updates, Ford introduced a new sales promotion in July called “Triple Zero.” The campaign offers $0 down payment, 0% financing, and zero payments for the first 90 days. It follows the earlier “From America, For America” initiative, which provided employee pricing for all customers.
Ford continues to refine its EV strategy while maintaining stable sales growth in its traditional segments, with a focus on innovation, affordability, and product alignment with customer demand.
