Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 17, On September 16, BYD officially launched the Tang DM-i Intelligent Driving 175KM Long-Range Edition in China. The new model is available in three trims priced from 179,800 yuan to 199,800 yuan. At the same time, the company announced a 10,000-yuan price reduction for the Tang DM-i 115KM Premium Edition, which now starts at 169,800 yuan.
The Tang DM-i 175KM edition introduces new design options, including a "Liuguang Silver" exterior and a "Xiafei Red" interior. All versions come standard with a column-mounted electronic gear shifter and physical shortcut buttons. From the mid-range trim upward, models are equipped with a 6.9-liter onboard refrigerator. The unit operates within a –6°C to 50°C range, can be controlled by voice or buttons, and includes a delayed power-off function to enhance user convenience.
In terms of intelligent features, the vehicle is equipped with BYD’s DiLink 100 system, powered by a 6nm D100 chip delivering 136K DMIPS of computing performance. The system supports full-scenario voice interaction, smartphone connectivity, karaoke without a microphone, 3D vehicle control, and over 1,000 in-car functions accessible through voice commands.
For driver assistance, the new edition incorporates a driver monitoring system (DMS) to detect fatigue. Higher trims feature the LiDAR-based DiPilot 300 "God's Eye B" package, which integrates 30 sensors. This advanced system enables highway navigation-on-autopilot (NOA), city NOA, automated parking, and additional safety functions.
The powertrain adopts BYD’s fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid system, which includes a dedicated 1.5Ti engine paired with the EHS200 system. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. A newly fitted 26.6-kWh Blade Battery provides a pure-electric range of 175 km under CLTC conditions and a combined driving range of 1,240 km. Charging efficiency is enhanced by 53-kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
BYD stated that the Tang DM-i 175KM Intelligent Driving Edition integrates upgrades in both performance and intelligent driving technologies, offering improved range, power efficiency, and driver assistance compared with earlier models. The company emphasized that the model’s combination of advanced hybrid technology, extended electric driving range, and user-friendly digital features positions it competitively in China’s growing plug-in hybrid SUV market.
The adjustments to the Tang DM-i lineup, including the launch of the 175KM edition and the price revision of the 115KM Premium Edition, demonstrate BYD’s strategy to enhance product variety and market accessibility. With the new configurations, BYD aims to meet diverse consumer preferences, ranging from advanced intelligent driving features to competitive pricing.
