The project will create multiple data center buildings designed to support cloud computing services and artificial intelligence infrastructure for Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company’s cloud division. The facilities will be located near the city of Vicksburg, providing additional capacity to meet growing customer demand across the central United States.

Construction of the campus is expected to generate thousands of temporary jobs during the building phase. Once operational, the data centers will employ hundreds of permanent staff in technical, engineering, security, and maintenance roles, contributing to local economic development.

The investment represents one of the largest single corporate commitments in Mississippi’s history. Amazon selected Warren County for its available land, access to reliable power infrastructure, and proximity to existing network connectivity.

The new campus will incorporate advanced energy-efficient designs and cooling systems, aligning with Amazon’s broader commitment to operate AWS facilities with high sustainability standards. The company continues to expand its global data center network to ensure low-latency service delivery for customers worldwide.

State and local officials welcomed the announcement, noting that the project will strengthen Mississippi’s position as an emerging hub for technology infrastructure. The development is expected to bring long-term benefits through increased tax revenue and support for related industries.
