As a key node in the southern Afghanistan transportation network, the Helmand River Bridge project has undergone multiple rounds of technical review during its planning phase. The Ministry of Information and Culture stated at the project launch ceremony that the bridge's design fully considers local hydrological conditions and freight demands. It employs a reinforced concrete structure to ensure durability while incorporating provisions for two-way traffic lanes and pedestrian walkways. During construction, the engineering team will prioritize the use of local materials and labor to stimulate employment in surrounding communities. It is estimated that after the project's completion, the cost of transporting local agricultural products out of the region is expected to decrease by approximately 15%, benefiting tens of thousands of farmers.
