The Thai government has officially approved an expressway construction project with a total investment of 505 million US dollars. This new expressway, named the M9 project, aims to improve traffic connectivity between Bang Bua Thong and Bang Pa-in.
It is reported that this expressway will be specifically managed by the Department of Highways of Thailand, with project funding coming from Thailand's 2026 national budget. An official from the Infrastructure Department of the Ministry of Transport of Thailand stated: "The M9 Expressway is a crucial link in improving the national trunk highway network. It will not only alleviate traffic pressure on existing roads but also promote logistics efficiency and economic development along the route." The project is expected to create a significant number of job opportunities and drive the development of related industries during the construction period.
The construction of this expressway will comply with Thailand's environmental protection regulations, employing eco-friendly road construction materials and technologies to minimize its impact on the ecological environment along the route. The engineering team will implement noise control and dust management measures during the construction period to ensure the quality of life for surrounding residents. From a long-term planning perspective, the M9 Expressway can be connected with other transportation infrastructure in the region in the future, forming a more comprehensive integrated transportation network. The implementation of this project reflects the Thai government's continuous investment in transportation infrastructure and its emphasis on enhancing the connectivity of the national road network.
