The first modular office building project undertaken by China International Marine Containers Co., Ltd. in Cameroon has now commenced. This prefabricated building project is located in the Bastos district of the capital, Yaoundé, covering an area of 3,000 square meters. It will consist of 78 modular units and complies with local permanent building standards.
The project includes offices, meeting rooms, a dining area, and auxiliary functional zones. The contractor, CIMC Group, completed approximately 90% of the construction and prefabrication work at its factory in Guangdong, China, and is responsible for transporting all components to the site. Adopting the prefabricated construction method is expected to reduce the overall project timeline by about half compared to traditional methods. The project is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026.
CIMC Group stated that Cameroon's development in the finance, technology, and trade sectors is driving demand for modern office spaces, while traditional construction methods face challenges in terms of response speed. The company is committed to promoting prefabricated building standards characterized by rapid construction and environmental friendliness.
