On March 1st, the Guangdong Provincial Key Energy Supply Project—the Phase II Expansion Project of China Shanwei Power Plant—achieved a critical milestone. The generator stator for Unit 5 was successfully hoisted into place 14 days ahead of schedule. This significant achievement marks the project's official entry into the core equipment installation phase.

The Phase II expansion project plans to construct two 1000-megawatt high-efficiency, clean, ultra-supercritical coal-fired power units, with a total investment of approximately 7.942 billion yuan. Upon completion, the annual power generation is expected to reach 9.2 billion kilowatt-hours. This project will enhance the power supply capacity for eastern Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, supporting the optimization of the regional energy structure.

The hoisted stator is a core component of the steam turbine generator set, measuring 11.286 meters in length, 3.83 meters in width, and 4.31 meters in height, with a weight exceeding 400 tons. Facing multiple challenges during the hoisting operation, the project team planned in advance, established a specialized leading group, and determined the "dual overhead crane + small trolley combined lifting" solution after multiple rounds of demonstration. Prior to construction, the project department completed training for special operations personnel and conducted comprehensive inspections of the equipment. During the hoisting process, operators closely coordinated, strictly controlling the lifting speed and equipment posture, ultimately achieving a smooth, one-time placement of the stator. All indicators met the design requirements.

Moving forward, the project department will use this successful hoisting as an opportunity to accelerate the installation and commissioning of the turbine, boiler, and electrical systems. They will strictly control safety and quality to ensure high-quality project delivery, contributing to Guangdong's energy development.
