Wedoany.com Report on Mar 18th, after 449 days of continuous safe operation in its first fuel cycle, Unit 1 of the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant in Fujian, China was successfully disconnected from the grid, officially commencing its first refueling overhaul (hereinafter referred to as the 101 overhaul).

During the 101 overhaul, key specialized tasks will be carried out, including the primary circuit hydrostatic test, the containment's overall leak-tightness and strength tests, and the in-service inspection of the reactor pressure vessel. Through preventive maintenance and modification projects, the reliability of the systems and equipment will be comprehensively enhanced, laying a solid foundation for the safe and stable operation of the unit in its next fuel cycle.

Since commencing commercial operation on January 1, 2025, Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 1 has maintained safe and stable operation, with its comprehensive operational performance index reaching world-advanced levels. It has generated a cumulative total of over 12.6 billion kWh of electricity in its first fuel cycle. This outstanding performance demonstrates the achievements of the batch construction and operation of the "Hualong One" technology, making a positive contribution to ensuring regional power supply and optimizing the energy structure.

The first refueling overhaul of Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 1 is a landmark "dual-first" project for China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) – it is both the first overhaul at a new nuclear power base following the intensive reform, and the first practical application of CNNC's "Party Building Leading, Overhaul Excellence" Party-building joint mechanism in the overhaul of the first unit from the batch construction of "Hualong One".
The Zhangzhou Nuclear Power 101 overhaul team resolutely establishes and practices a correct view of political achievements.
