en.Wedoany.com Reported - On April 9th, the standard project approval and application plan seminar of the Nuclear Power Cooling Source Professional Committee of the China Nuclear Industry Survey and Design Association (hereinafter referred to as the Cooling Source Committee) was held in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. The conference was hosted by the Cooling Source Committee and jointly organized by the State Nuclear Power Plant Design and Research Institute (SNPDRI) and Jiangsu SeaGull Cooling Tower Co., Ltd. More than 50 representatives from over 20 member units of the Cooling Source Committee attended the meeting, which was chaired by SNPDRI.

In recent years, the China Nuclear Industry Survey and Design Association has strictly complied with relevant national regulations and, under the guidance of relevant departments, established a standardized and comprehensive group standard management framework. It has set up management and technical committees, as well as various professional committees, led by academicians and industry masters, to provide comprehensive support for group standard work. To date, 65 group standard projects have been approved, with 22 published and 40 steadily under development, effectively supporting standard construction and technology application in the nuclear industry survey and design field.

For the high-quality development of the nuclear power industry, accelerating the improvement of the cooling source standard system and standardizing technology and operation & maintenance processes are crucial for ensuring nuclear power safety. This seminar was a progress meeting to clarify directions and deploy tasks for the standard system construction in the cooling source field. It focused on key technologies and industry pain points, prioritizing the creation of a batch of standards that solve practical problems and promoting the transformation of technological achievements.

During the meeting, SNPDRI delivered the main report. Participating experts reviewed and approved the proposal for 10 group standard projects to be initiated in 2026. All representatives jointly discussed the application plan for nuclear power cooling source group standard projects to be initiated in 2027 and engaged in in-depth exchanges and lively discussions on related topics.

The meeting concluded that with China's third-generation nuclear power now achieving large-scale application and fourth-generation nuclear power R&D making key breakthroughs, accelerating the construction of a comprehensive cooling source group standard system is an inevitable requirement to align with the high-quality development of the national nuclear power industry and achieve the goal of becoming a nuclear power leader.

First, it is necessary to enhance political awareness, advance standard construction from a strategic perspective of safeguarding national energy security and promoting China's nuclear power transition from "large-scale" to "strong".

Second, it is essential to adhere to a demand-oriented approach, focusing on standard gaps and normative needs in key links such as cooling source system design, manufacturing, and operation & maintenance. Priority should be given to approving standards with strong practicality and broad coverage, and timely integration of mature and reliable innovation achievements into the standard system to promote the efficient transformation and application of advanced technologies.

Third, it is crucial to strengthen overall planning and establish a normalized working mechanism of "annual project approval, continuous annual progress, and overall improvement". Deepen the synergy among industry, academia, research, and application, fully integrate the R&D advantages of universities and research institutes, the engineering design advantages of design institutes, the industrialization advantages of manufacturing enterprises, and the on-site practical advantages of operating units, pooling efforts from all parties to jointly participate in standard application and development work.

Participating member units included 28 well-known organizations such as China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Design Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen), Hualong International, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute, China General Nuclear Power Operation Co., Ltd., China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dalian University of Technology, Jiangsu Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd., and SeaGull Co., Ltd.
