During a visit to Guangdong, China, Pramono Anung, Governor of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, held talks with Shenzhen Metro Group, accompanied by the President Director of PT MRT Jakarta. At the meeting, Governor Pramono stated that Jakarta hopes to learn from the development experiences of metro systems in global cities, noting that Shenzhen Metro serves as a benchmark in service and operational efficiency. He pointed out that Jakarta's average daily ridership is approximately 4 million trips, and developing the metro system has become a long-term solution to alleviate traffic congestion, improve urban operational efficiency, and promote integrated development across the metropolitan area. PT MRT Jakarta's President Director also expressed full support for the government's push to transform urban development models towards Transit-Oriented Development.
