en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sunswap has secured a second order from James Hall & Co. to supply its Endurance electric transport refrigeration units for chilled distribution operations in northern England. The electric transport refrigeration system manufacturer will expand the wholesaler's Endurance fleet to eight units, which will serve distribution tasks across three temperature zones: ambient, chilled, and frozen.
James Hall & Co. first deployed the Endurance units in its double-deck trailer fleet in the summer of 2025. This repeat order follows sustained testing of the equipment on multi-drop delivery routes in daily commercial operations.
The Endurance units can simultaneously operate three temperature zones on double-deck trailers, achieving zero direct emissions. The system charges via a three-phase connection, and integrated trailer-top solar technology helps reduce grid electricity demand while extending operational range.
These refrigeration units will serve the company's SPAR distribution centre in Preston, covering a total annual mileage of approximately 62,000 miles. Sunswap's software platform provides fleet visibility on temperature, utilisation, and asset performance, with the company's service team monitoring system performance to identify maintenance needs before operational disruptions occur.
"We needed a refrigeration solution capable of handling three temperature zones on double-deck trailers across demanding multi-drop delivery routes in northern England," said Ian Farnworth, Fleet Engineering Manager at James Hall & Co. "We found that Sunswap's Endurance units are fully up to the task, delivering fresh food without leaving an environmental footprint. We also receive operational support from the company and are pleased to order more Endurance units to support the ongoing modernisation of our fleet."
