en.Wedoany.com Reported - After a two-year construction period, ENOVA has commissioned a 65MW repowering project at the Meppen wind farm in Germany. This is the largest turbine repowering project in the company's history, featuring the installation of nine Vestas V172 (Vestas V172) turbines.

ENOVA revealed that the new turbines are expected to generate approximately 163 million kWh of electricity annually, about four times the output of the 14 old units commissioned in 2002. The turbines have a rotor diameter of 172 meters, a hub height of 175 meters, and a total height of 261 meters. The wind farm can supply electricity to approximately 46,500 three-person households.

The repowering project was approved in July 2023 under the Federal Immission Control Act, and construction of the new turbines began in November 2025.

ENOVA CFO Björn Burau stated that the success of the Meppen wind farm repowering project is a significant milestone for the company, demonstrating the ability to modernize existing sites through technical expertise, operational strength, and stakeholder collaboration. Project Manager David Szilagyi added that the project is an example of combining sustainable power generation with regional value creation, emphasizing that trust-based cooperation and contributions from all parties were crucial to its success.
