The project aims to build India's first open-data-based agricultural ecosystem, providing farmers with free, real-time, and personalized agricultural intelligence services, while promoting precision agriculture and climate-resilient farming.

The signing ceremony took place in Nice, France, with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron attending related events. Syngenta will contribute its R&D capabilities and agronomic expertise to the project, focusing on building models for crop health, pest prediction, and heat stress, enabling the platform to integrate crop information, real-time microclimate data, and multilingual interaction tools to provide more tailored farming advice for farmers in different regions.

Annam.AI stands for Alliance for Next-gen Nourishment through Agriculture Modernization, with its name also corresponding to the Sanskrit word for "food."
