en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 4, EDF Power Solutions UK, a subsidiary of Électricité de France (EDF), disclosed that it has signed a principle agreement with German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex. Under the agreement, Nordex is expected to exclusively supply wind turbines and provide related support for multiple onshore wind projects EDF is advancing in the UK, involving a total capacity of up to 900 megawatts.

This agreement adopts a multi-project cooperation model, adjusting the traditional approach of procuring turbines separately for individual projects. The two parties will collaborate early in the project design and optimization phase, coordinating on supply chain integration, value engineering, and subsequent construction and operational planning.

EDF Power Solutions UK stated that this agreement will support the advancement of its UK onshore wind project portfolio. The company has set a target of having 10 gigawatts of operational renewable energy projects in the UK and Ireland by 2035.

Currently, the official announcement has not disclosed the specific wind projects, turbine models, equipment quantities, contract amounts, or delivery timelines covered by the agreement. The maximum of 900 megawatts represents the capacity ceiling under the principle agreement and should not be construed as Nordex having secured a formal equipment order of equivalent scale.
