en.Wedoany.com Reported - Qualcomm Technologies has launched the Snapdragon START (Snapdragon Scalable Turnkey AI-Ready Toolkit) program, designed to help brands rapidly develop and commercialize personal AI devices, with the first batch of products focusing on smart glasses.

Announced at the Augmented World Expo, the Snapdragon START program aims to streamline product development by combining the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform with a deployable hardware, software, AI, and manufacturing ecosystem.
The platform is built around compact hardware modules powered by Snapdragon chipsets, which integrate high-performance computing, connectivity, and artificial intelligence capabilities into wearable form factors. A key component is the AI model-agnostic software architecture, which securely connects the wearable device to companion smartphone apps and cloud services. This hybrid AI approach provides brands with the flexibility to choose from a variety of AI models and services.
Ziad Asghar, Senior Vice President and General Manager of XR, Wearables, and Personal AI at Qualcomm Technologies, stated that smart glasses can bring agentic AI into daily life by enabling devices to understand in real time what users see, hear, and experience. The Snapdragon START program aims to lower the development barrier and expand consumer access to these next-generation AI experiences.
The first company to exclusively collaborate with Qualcomm under this program is Inspecs, a global eyewear manufacturer known for licensed brands (including Barbour, CAT, Superdry, and O'Neill) and its premium TitanFlex eyewear brand. Inspecs plans to combine its expertise in eyewear design, comfort, and manufacturing with Qualcomm's AI and wearable technology capabilities. Technology and manufacturing partners supporting the program include Applied Materials, Avegant, Jorjin, Pegatron, and Thundercomm, contributing expertise in photonics, display technology, engineering design, and mass production.
The launch of Snapdragon START reflects Qualcomm's broader strategy to expand the personal AI ecosystem beyond smartphones and into wearable devices. By providing a turnkey development platform, Qualcomm aims to help brands focus on product design, user experience, and go-to-market strategies while reducing engineering complexity and development costs.
