en.Wedoany.com Reported - The United Arab Emirates will establish an Artificial Intelligence and Data Authority, an entity aimed at unifying public data, artificial intelligence, and digital government capabilities under a single national framework to accelerate the country's AI-driven digital transformation goals.

Approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the authority will integrate national directions and priorities to build a unified digital government system powered by Agentic AI.
The authority will drive digital initiatives by formulating public policies, legislation, and strategic proposals, while ensuring proper coordination between federal and local entities.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the UAE is committed to establishing a more efficient, agile, and proactive government model driven by data and AI to improve decision-making, enhance government services, and raise the quality of life. He stated that this initiative will strengthen the country's competitiveness and leadership in the global digital economy. He said: "Our goal is to build a government that is faster, smarter, and always one step ahead; a government that uses technology to serve its people and create a better future for the next generation."
The authority will integrate responsibilities previously managed by three separate government entities: the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; the Digital Government sector of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA); and the UAE Data Office.
The entity reports directly to the Cabinet, and Omar Sultan Al Olama has been appointed to lead this new government body.
This new structure reflects the UAE's digital ambitions by establishing a future government driven by data and AI. This new phase of the country's digital government agenda highlights a people-centric approach, expected to deliver faster and higher-quality services.
