en.Wedoany.com Reported - Breeze Airways plans to launch 19 new and resumed routes between July 1 and 3. These routes bring the total number of routes operated by the airline in the first week of July to 353, including 346 domestic routes and 6 international routes.

The company is known for opening new markets that previously had no direct flights or routes previously operated by other airlines. Since it primarily serves leisure travelers and many routes involve small to medium-sized cities at one or both ends, its routes average only two flights per week, a relatively low frequency.

Analysts used OAG data to analyze Breeze Airways' entire route network from January 1, 2025, to June 29, 2026, and compared it with flights scheduled to operate between July 1 and 3. The results show that 17 of the 19 routes are brand new, while 2 have been operated before. Among them, 7 routes face direct competition from at least one other airline at the airport level, including the Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Punta Cana route, although Frontier Airlines will exit in August. 63% of the 19 routes face no direct competition at the airport level, a proportion lower than normal but still noteworthy.

Some markets previously had direct flights, such as routes operated by the now-defunct Spirit Airlines. Breeze Airways is entering markets such as Orlando International Airport (MCO) and TPA to Atlantic City, which were part of Spirit Airlines' network until earlier this year. Additionally, Spirit Airlines also operated several other routes among these 19 this year, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Charleston International Airport (CHS) and TPA.

Most airport pairs currently have service or have had direct flights in the past. For example, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Birmingham flight was last operated by Expressjet in 2008. Delta Connection operated Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to Greenville-Spartanburg until 2013. Cincinnati was once a Delta Air Lines hub.

Four of the 19 routes are entirely new, meaning they have never had direct flights before: Akron-Canton to Portland, Maine; FLL to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton; FLL to Salisbury; and RDU to Tallahassee Regional Airport (TLH). According to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) data, even when RDU was a hub, American Airlines never operated flights to the Florida capital. For the Akron-Canton to Portland market, only 800 round-trip passengers traveled indirectly in the 12 months ending March 2026. Breeze Airways positions Akron-Canton as an alternative to Cleveland, about an hour's drive away, while the existing market has 13,500 passengers. The market has been unserved since United Airlines' limited-time operation in 2021. Previously, Continental and later United Airlines operated the route from their then-Cleveland hub, with scheduled service ending in 2013.

On July 2, Breeze Airways will fly to TLH for the first time, launching two routes from FLL and RDU. The intrastate route from FLL was last operated by the now-defunct Silver Airways until June 2025. JetBlue operated it until October 2024. Breeze Airways will have the market to itself. The market had 94,700 passengers in 2024, dropping to 39,500 in 2025. Between July 2025 and March 2026, with no direct flights, 6,300 passengers flew indirectly. On July 3, Breeze Airways will arrive in Birmingham. The airline has been operating in Alabama since 2021, but previously only involved Huntsville and Mobile. Now Birmingham and Huntsville will receive service.
