en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cemvision has signed a strategic partnership with Siemens to jointly develop and promote near-zero carbon emission cement production facilities. The collaboration combines Cemvision's circular cement technology with Siemens' expertise in industrial systems and global reach, aiming to drive the decarbonization of the cement industry.

Cement production is one of the world's largest sources of carbon emissions, accounting for approximately 7% to 8% of global CO2 emissions, yet the industry's technological pathways have seen little substantial change for decades. Cemvision's "Re-ment" is a circular cement primarily produced from industrial residues and by-products—materials that would otherwise be discarded. By combining recycled materials with fossil-free energy, Cemvision's technology can reduce emissions by up to 95% compared to traditional cement production.

Under the cooperation framework, Siemens is positioned as the preferred supplier for Cemvision's production facilities, offering products and services covering medium and low voltage power distribution, control systems, frequency converters, process instrumentation, cybersecurity, as well as digital solutions such as plant lifecycle management, IT/OT integration, and plant simulation. The two parties are also exploring virtual factory (digital twin) solutions for pre-design, value engineering, and virtual commissioning of Cemvision's facilities. Additionally, discussions are underway regarding Siemens potentially serving as an early customer for Cemvision's cement within its own supply chain, providing market validation and demand certainty.

Andrea Waenerlund, CEO of Siemens Nordic, stated: "Digital twins and advanced process control can optimize cement production in ways previously impossible. By combining Cemvision's cement chemistry expertise with Siemens' digitalization and automation capabilities, we are creating a blueprint for next-generation sustainable manufacturing." Oscar Hållén, CEO of Cemvision, commented: "This partnership aligns with both companies' sustainability agendas—Cemvision's mission to decarbonize cement production and Siemens' focus on green industrial transformation. We look forward to exploring the full potential of this collaboration." The partnership has been formalized through a memorandum of understanding, with both parties committed to advancing the collaboration toward commercial deployment.
