en.Wedoany.com Reported - DP World has officially inaugurated Egypt's first fully integrated logistics distribution center at the Sokhna Logistics Park, aiming to strengthen the Suez Canal Economic Zone's role as a regional trade gateway connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and senior government officials attended the launch ceremony. The event coincided with DP World Chairman Essa Kazim's first visit to Egypt since assuming office, during which three initial customer agreements were signed.
Located adjacent to Sokhna Port, the logistics distribution center offers international businesses end-to-end supply chain solutions, covering international freight forwarding, port services, warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, customs facilitation, transportation coordination, and value-added services such as assembly, packaging, labeling, and product customization. This model allows companies to retain inventory ownership before final distribution and efficiently serve local, regional, and international markets.
The three initial customers span different industries. A Kenyan tea exporter plans to use the center as a regional inventory hub, distributing approximately 1,000 TEUs of cargo annually to Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. A global consumer goods distributor will utilize the park's temperature-controlled facilities to support operations across eight markets, including Saudi Arabia, the Levant, and the Horn of Africa. A German multinational company specializing in fiber optic cables and digital infrastructure intends to strengthen its distribution and re-export capabilities in Egypt, North Africa, and the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
Essa Kazim stated that the project opens a new chapter in DP World's long-term cooperation with Egypt. Mohammad Shihab, Executive Vice President of DP World for Egypt and the Levant, noted that the facility enables companies to bring inventory closer to customers and serve multiple markets through a single regional hub, thereby consolidating Egypt's strategic position. To date, DP World's total investment in integrated logistics infrastructure in Egypt has exceeded $1.4 billion, including the expansion and modernization of Sokhna Port, the development of Sokhna Logistics Park, and a new cold chain facility currently under construction.
