en.Wedoany.com Reported - EDF Power Solutions North America, a subsidiary of Électricité de France (EDF), has signed a 30-year Electricity Purchase Agreement (EPA) with the Saulteau First Nations (SFN) in Canada for the 200.6 MW Taylor South Wind Project. This project is part of the 2025 electricity call for tenders by BC Hydro (BCH).

Headquartered near Chetwynd, British Columbia, the Saulteau First Nations have accumulated extensive experience in Indigenous-led green energy, land reclamation, and sustainable economic development. EDF Power Solutions is a global low-carbon electricity and renewable energy company operating in over 25 countries with a total installed capacity of 31 GW, specializing in the development, construction, and operation of wind and solar facilities.
The Taylor South Wind Project is considered an expansion of the Taylor Wind project, which also secured a power purchase agreement with BCH in 2025. Located in the Peace River Region, approximately 10 kilometers south of Taylor, British Columbia, the project is expected to begin operations in 2032, supplying electricity to 60,000 households. Under this equity partnership, the Saulteau First Nations hold a 51% economic interest in the project.
According to Adrian Dix, British Columbia's Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions, clean and affordable electricity is crucial for enhancing the province's self-sufficiency, developing the economy, and attracting private sector investment. The expansion of the BCH system is described as transformative. The Taylor South project is one of four clean energy projects selected by BCH in its 2025 electricity call for tenders, aimed at meeting the growing electricity demands of local communities and households.
