en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, BWX Technologies announced the completion of its previously disclosed acquisition of Precision Components Group, LLC (PCG), including its subsidiaries Precision Custom Components (PCC) and DC Fabricators (DCF).

PCG is a U.S. manufacturer specializing in complex thick-walled heat transfer components. BWXT stated that the acquisition will expand the company's heavy manufacturing footprint and enhance its ability to supply U.S.-made nuclear components for the commercial nuclear energy sector.

John MacQuarrie, President of BWXT Commercial Operations, said that the growing demand for reliable, carbon-free energy makes strengthening the U.S. nuclear manufacturing base more urgent. With expanded manufacturing capacity, the company will be better positioned to support reactor life extension programs, new build projects, and long-term energy reliability needs.

Following the acquisition, PCG will be integrated into BWXT's Commercial Operations segment and will continue operations at its existing facilities in York, Pennsylvania, and Florence, New Jersey. The transaction adds over 500,000 square feet of U.S. heavy manufacturing capacity for BWXT, covering large-scale machining, heavy welding components, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and ASME-certified component manufacturing, while bringing in more than 450 skilled employees.

In addition to expanding commercial nuclear capacity, PCG will continue its existing work, including providing components and services for Electric Boat, Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc., and other U.S. Navy programs. BWXT is currently headquartered in the United States, employs approximately 10,000 people, and owns and operates 17 manufacturing facilities globally.
