en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bhubaneswar, India will add two new data centers with a total investment of ₹106,648 million, further consolidating the city's position as a key digital infrastructure hub in eastern India.

The Adani Group plans to invest ₹80,000 million to build a data center in Info Valley. This facility will support cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital governance platforms, and is expected to create approximately 200 high-end direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the development of a robust digital ecosystem and attracting technology companies and cloud service providers.

Additionally, the Government of Odisha has approved the construction of the new State Data Centre 2.0 (SDC 2.0), a project costing ₹26,648 million that will replace the existing state data center. Chief Secretary Anu Garg stated that the new facility will meet Tier-III standards, providing scalable cloud infrastructure, enhanced cybersecurity features, and disaster recovery mechanisms to support the state government's growing digital needs. SDC 2.0 aims to meet the increasing demands of e-governance initiatives, AI applications, and government database integration, ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical services.

This decision follows the launch of the Odisha State Data Policy 2026 (OSDP 2026). This policy aims to establish a unified data governance framework across the state, focusing on governance-driven data management, administrative efficiency, and privacy protection, marking a significant shift from the previous framework that primarily emphasized open data access and sectoral digitalization.
