en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dongguan's Rail Transit Line 2 Phase III project has officially entered the track laying stage. On the morning of June 30, the first section of track was hoisted and positioned at the Humen Avenue Station track laying base, marking a new construction phase for this rail transit artery connecting Humen with the Binhai Bay New Area and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
As a key infrastructure project for Guangdong Province and Dongguan City, this phase extends Line 2's first and second phases southward to Binhai Bay. The line spans approximately 17.13 kilometers, starting from Humen Railway Station, with 9 underground stations covering residential areas, commercial zones, industrial parks, and railway hubs along the route. Upon completion, it will operate in conjunction with Line 2's first and second phases, allowing transfers to the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway at Binhai Bay Station, and to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway and the Suishen Intercity Railway at Humen Railway Station. In the future, it will also connect with planned lines such as Dongguan Line 3, Shenzhen Line 20, and Guangzhou Line 22, enhancing connectivity within the towns and districts along the route.
Since construction began in August 2022, seven shield tunnel sections have been completed, and the main structures of six stations have been topped out, paving the way for track laying. Next, three track laying bases along the entire line will commence operations, with track laying expected to be completed for the section from Humen Railway Station to Binhai Bay Station this year.
Going forward, Dongguan Rail Transit and Bus Group will advance track laying across the entire line while ensuring safety and quality, simultaneously accelerating station electromechanical installation, decoration works, and power and communication system construction, strictly controlling key milestone timelines.
