en.Wedoany.com Reported - WeDoAny News, according to data released by the China Construction Machinery Association on July 6, 2026, in June 2026, major Chinese excavator manufacturers sold a total of 25,445 excavators, a year-on-year increase of 35.3%. Among them, domestic sales reached 10,898 units (including 65 electric excavators), up 33.9% year-on-year; exports totaled 14,547 units (including 34 electric excavators), up 36.4% year-on-year. In the same month, loader sales reached 15,002 units, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%. The construction machinery industry continued its moderate recovery trend since 2025, with both domestic and international demand driving a sustained improvement in industry sentiment.
From January to June 2026, cumulative excavator sales reached 152,320 units, a year-on-year increase of 26.4%. Among them, domestic sales totaled 79,025 units, up 20.4% year-on-year; exports reached 73,295 units, up 33.5% year-on-year. Loader sales in the first half of the year totaled 82,052 units, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%, with domestic sales at 41,396 units, up 16.2%, and exports at 40,656 units, up 39.5%. Since March 2026, monthly excavator sales have exceeded 20,000 units for four consecutive months, with March sales reaching 37,400 units, the highest monthly figure since May 2021.
Exports have become the core driver of industry growth. In the first half of 2026, excavator export growth reached 33.5%, and loader export growth reached 39.5%, both significantly higher than domestic sales growth rates. Sustained strong demand for infrastructure in emerging markets such as Africa and Southeast Asia, coupled with improved overseas channels and enhanced product competitiveness of domestic brands, jointly drove high export growth.

In the electrification sector, the electrification penetration rate for loaders has reached as high as 60.19%. The advantages of electric loaders—faster acceleration, shorter operating cycles, and lower total cost of ownership—are being validated in the market. From January to May 2026, cumulative sales of electric loaders reached 20,819 units, a year-on-year increase of 90.9%; electric excavator sales totaled 222 units, up 96.5% year-on-year. Leading domestic companies such as SANY and XCMG have successively launched full series of new electrified and intelligent products, with electrification transitioning from pilot projects to large-scale implementation.

Regarding operating rates, the monthly operating rate for major construction machinery products in June 2026 was 51.1%, a decrease of 5.83 percentage points year-on-year and a decrease of 1.25 percentage points month-on-month. The average monthly working hours for major products were 73.8 hours, down 4.48% year-on-year and 4.61% month-on-month. Among them, non-road mining dump trucks led all categories with 124 hours, followed by forklifts (97.1 hours), loaders (96.7 hours), and concrete mixer trucks (85.2 hours). The operating rate in June saw a slight month-on-month decline but remained at a relatively high level year-on-year, indicating no trend reversal in industry sentiment.
