Laing O'Rourke and Oisin Capital founder Ray O'Rourke first met Comedil founder Ferruccio Moritsch in 1993, when subsidiary Select Plant began supplying luffing tower cranes; the partnership continued as Comedil became part of Moritsch.

After the Terex acquisition, members of the Moritsch family remained in senior positions for a period before exiting. Ferruccio Moritsch's son, Mariano Moritsch, later founded a company under the same name in Belluno, near the Terex Comedil plant in Fontannafreda.

Oisin Capital stated that the deal is part of a plan for continued investment in adjacent industries and a "new delivery model" in the UK and Australia—where increasingly large luffing tower cranes are gaining popularity.

Ray O'Rourke added: "It's great to be working with Mariano again on this critical part of construction delivery."
