According to the new fee schedule released by the Danish multinational shipping company, the surcharge for a 20-foot container will decrease from approximately $96 to $72, a reduction of 25%. The surcharge for 40-foot containers and high-cube container types will also be lowered, from about $158 to $120. In an official statement, Maersk stated that this revision of the surcharge is aimed at maintaining the competitiveness of its transit times and providing a predictable service portfolio for global trade.
