en.Wedoany.com Reported - Breck Homes is advancing plans to build 84 homes on the former Huyton Cricket and Bowling Club site. The 6.5-acre plot last hosted an official cricket match in 2012.

In addition to a range of properties featuring affordable rent, shared ownership, and rent-to-buy models, Breck Homes' proposal includes renovating the Grade II listed pavilion, which has stood on the site since 1875, and adding a pond. The homes, located off Huyton Lane, will offer one to four bedrooms, with property types including duplex apartments, flats, townhouses, and semi-detached houses.

According to Breck Homes, the project's estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) is £20 million. Phil Dolan, Managing Director for the North West, stated that since acquiring the former Huyton Cricket Club in 2024, the team has worked with multiple stakeholders to ensure the proposed high-quality residential and public space development respects both local residents' wishes and the site's history, delivering maximum benefit to Huyton. Dolan also noted the genuine and growing demand for affordable housing in Knowsley and expressed delight that Knowsley Council recognises this new community's potential to transform the former cricket club site and the wider area, providing local residents and families with a home to be proud of.

Breck Homes is in discussions with an affordable housing provider for the latter to acquire the site upon project completion. The planning application was submitted on behalf of Breck Homes by Lichfields, with the project team also including Townsend Water Engineering, UES, Tree Solutions, and TBA.
