Shikun and Binui Energy Romania Wind-Solar Hybrid Plant

Since commissioning its first renewable energy project in Romania last August—the Satu Mare photovoltaic plant—the Israeli real estate developer is about to begin construction of a rare hybrid power station. The Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has issued establishment or authorization permits for the Deleni 1 wind farm and the Deleni 2 solar park. The project is located in northeastern Iași County, bordering Botoșani County, with a transmission grid connection capacity of 76 MW. The final milestone before construction is valid for three years.

According to earlier documents, the wind farm consists of 12 Vestas 7.2 MW wind turbines, covering 26 hectares with a rated capacity of 86.4 MW; the photovoltaic section has a peak capacity of 15 MW, planned to use 25,200 Risen modules and 55 Sungrow inverters. The project company Deleni Wind Energy is registered in Constanța, with its parent company being Shikun and Binui Energy Romania, under Shikun and Binui Energy Europe. Earlier updates show that the investor will lay a 35 km underground transmission line connecting Deleni and its planned Scobinți wind farm to the Boureni substation. A few months ago, the company obtained an establishment authorization for the Scobinți project, with a capacity of 111.8 MW. Notably, the Public Power Corporation (PPC Group) has also built a wind farm named Deleni in the same-named commune of Vaslui County, adjacent to the south of Iași County.

Denmark-based Eurowind Energy received a construction permit a month ago for the Siminoc wind and solar power plant, located in Constanța County, southeastern Romania, a major wind energy hub. The investment is estimated at 65 million euros. The facility will receive state support through a contract for difference (CfD) mechanism in a renewable energy auction, consisting of a 24.8 MW wind farm and a 24.8 MW photovoltaic power plant.
