en.Wedoany.com Reported - Antares Metals (ASX:AM5) has completed a reverse circulation drilling program at the Conglomerate Creek Target 2 prospect in Queensland, Australia, comprising six holes for a total of 780 meters, marking the first underground exploration of this intrusive complex.

The drilling encountered oriented quartz vein systems consistent with surface mineralization characteristics. Previous surface rock chip sample analysis showed copper grades up to 21.30%, indicating that the mineralized structure extends to depth beneath the high-grade surface results.

Company Managing Director Terry Topping stated that although strong copper, gold, and silver grades have been mapped at surface, this drilling represents the first time a drill bit has tested the Conglomerate Creek intrusive system. The drilling has advanced below the mineralized zone and encountered the same quartz vein types as those at surface. As assay results come in, the company will soon understand the system's grades at depth.

Laboratory assays for copper, gold, and silver from all six holes are being conducted at ALS's facility in Mount Isa, with results expected in the coming weeks. The drilling tested the area beneath the mapped and sampled mineralized quartz breccia stockwork at Target 2, which is one of seven untested geophysical anomalies within the Conglomerate Creek prospect. The drilling also targeted a dense gravity anomaly, considered a potential source of the surface mineralization mapped by the company's geologists.

The Conglomerate Creek prospect is located within Antares' wholly-owned Mount Isa North tenement, approximately 39 kilometers northeast of Glencore's Mount Isa Operations. The prospect covers a distinct 2-kilometer by 2.5-kilometer semicircular intrusive feature identified by the company during a 2024 geophysical survey. Historical exploration in the area was limited to sporadic stream sediment samples and one rock chip sample. The mineralized quartz vein system at Target 2 has been traced over a 220-meter strike length before disappearing under cover. 2025 rock chip sampling returned copper grades of 21.30%, gold grades of 1.72 g/t, and silver grades of 506 g/t.

The company is completing a follow-up reverse circulation drilling program at Conglomerate Creek Target 5, where rock chip sampling returned copper grades of up to 22%. Antares Metals is a Queensland-focused exploration company advancing the Mount Isa North copper project and the Quinns project in Western Australia.
