en.Wedoany.com Reported - Russia's electric vehicle "Atom" (Атом) officially began customer deliveries on July 17, 2026, with two commercial vehicles handed over on the same day. Igor Povarazdnyuk (Игорь Поваразднюк), General Director of Kama Joint-Stock Company (АО «Кама»), the project's developer, confirmed the delivery progress. Blogger Maxim Gorshenin (Максим Горшенин) claimed to be the first official buyer to receive the vehicle. Actual delivery activities had started earlier, between May and June, and as of the report, 17 electric vehicles had been registered. The initial batch was prioritized for VIP customers; since July, deliveries have been extended to regular consumers.
All customers who completed reservations during the early booking phase at the end of 2025 must take delivery by October 15, 2026. Kama Joint-Stock Company plans to deliver at least 3,000 electric vehicles to owners in the fourth quarter of 2026, with total reservations for the model reaching 105,000 units. Vehicle deliveries will take place at the company's engineering center and dedicated delivery points, with customers also having the option of home delivery.

Development of the "Atom" project began five years ago, with the first pre-production version unveiled in the spring of 2023. This four-meter-long electric vehicle is built on a proprietary platform, equipped with a traction battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, and a rear-axle motor outputting 204 horsepower. Official data indicates an acceleration time of 8 seconds from 0-100 km/h, a top speed of 170 km/h, and a range of 500 kilometers under the WLTC cycle.

Other engineering features include a five-link rear suspension, pillarless rear-hinged doors, and a touchscreen steering wheel integrating instrument cluster functions. The vehicle is also equipped with augmented reality head-up display, a voice assistant, L2+ ADAS, smartphone control capabilities, and over-the-air media system content updates via a proprietary operating system. During mid-development, the vehicle abandoned steer-by-wire technology after road testing. Project funding is provided by KAMAZ (КАМАЗ), Rosatom (Росатом), and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (РФПИ), with full-cycle production, including welding and painting, carried out at the Moskvich ("Москвич") factory.
The electric vehicle's price ranges from 3.9 million to 3.98 million rubles. Buyers are eligible for a state subsidy of up to 925,000 rubles, reducing the price to 2.975 million or 3.055 million rubles. When purchasing with a loan, early repayment is allowed, and banks do not require comprehensive insurance (КАСКО). After taking delivery, blogger Gorshenin traveled from Moscow to Leningrad Oblast to attend the "Igora Drive 2026" Garage Fest (Garage Fest «Игора Драйв 2026»), noting that on certain sections, his electric vehicle traveled faster than internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, as of July 2026, electric vehicle owners can pass through toll sections for free using a dedicated electronic toll tag, and charging costs are significantly lower due to the well-developed fast-charging network.
