en.Wedoany.com Reported - Oxfordshire County Council has launched a road drainage project to address persistent flooding on an estate road. This road serves as the only vehicle access route, and traffic marshals will be on-site during construction to manage pedestrian and vehicle movements.

Councillor Liz Leffman, Cabinet Member for Highways Construction and Repair, stated that residents have long endured flooding at this location due to a lack of proper maintenance by developers before the road was adopted by the council as a highway authority. Officials have worked to find a solution, and upon completion, the works will significantly reduce the risk of road flooding during heavy rainfall.

Before construction begins, surveys will determine the depth and location of underground utilities on site, which may cause brief delays for those seeking access. Advance warning signs will be erected at the junction of Station Lane and Buttercross Lane two weeks before work starts.

During construction, one side of the carriageway will remain open where feasible to allow residents to pass through the work area. Temporary ramps will be installed on kerbs to assist large vehicles in passing under marshals' supervision. At night, barriers will ensure site safety while keeping one lane open for public access to and from Buttercross Lane.
