As a core piece of equipment for infrastructure construction, the sustained high growth in excavator output reflects the vitality of domestic infrastructure investment and the prosperity of the engineering machinery industry.

Looking at monthly trends, excavator output in the first half of 2026 continued the growth momentum seen since 2025. In the first quarter of 2026, cumulative excavator output was approximately 112,107 units, up 22.8% year-on-year; output continued to rise in the second quarter, with April output at 39,389 units (up 34% year-on-year), May output at 34,980 units (up 35.4% year-on-year), and June output at 39,308 units (up 30.5% year-on-year). Monthly output remained at a relatively high level throughout the first half of the year, with the industry overall in an expansion phase.

In terms of tractors, output of large tractors reached 9,425 units in June, up 58.6% year-on-year; medium tractor output was 16,743 units, up 5.6% year-on-year; and small tractor output was 9,000 units, down 10% year-on-year. From January to June 2026, cumulative output of large tractors was 79,439 units, up 21.0% year-on-year; cumulative output of medium tractors was 146,512 units, up 6.1% year-on-year. The growth rate of large tractor output significantly outpaced that of medium and small tractors, reflecting the upgrade of agricultural mechanization towards larger scale and higher-end models.

For other major machinery and equipment, output of metal-cutting machine tools reached 85,000 units in June, up 18.1% year-on-year; metal-forming machine tool output was 18,000 units, up 5.9% year-on-year; output of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways was 145,000 units, up 9.0% year-on-year. Engine output was 180,187 megawatts, down 7.7% year-on-year; industrial boiler output was 12,902.6 tons of evaporation, down 21.7% year-on-year.
